One of your previous posts shows the device is recognized by lsusb.

The link I posted at http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/sane-devel/2011-July/028816.html says that:

it is not recognized by scanimage -L, and it is not yet in the device list (http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON).

This was posted in July 2011, and I still don't see your model listed in sane-backends. I see that Canon has a Linux driver for their MG5250 model, but I see nothing for your model. If I were in your shoes, I would go directly to Canon and ask them what the deal is.
