An IceWM Latte is a good idea but I started to think in the RAW version and I see endless possibilities of learning and making very personal remasters. Is it work attracting me? I need breakfast I smell chilaquiles and coffee from the kitchen, just put Winter Reflections from boyz II men kids are decorating the Christmas tree, going to help. Life is good mmmmm...chilaquiles...nom, nom, nom wow does that ever sound good, I may have to make some migas this morning Definitely be of interest to a lot of folks hereabouts, I saw Melodie mention that she'd like to try a RatPoison iso (not my cup of tea), and others have expressed similar sentiments. The various projects like this that are ongoing, are one of the things in my mind that put PCLOS a big step above the rest of the crowd.

This is not exactly what I said. I suggested the idea to konaexpress at the linuxgator.org forum, as he expressed the wish to try to create something, it seems he would like to have something very light for his netbook. I said if he did a spinoff with ratpoison, I would test it. The idea comes from the November PCLOS Mag, because there are 2 articles about ratpoison, and a configuration file ready to use. I know by reputation that it is a very light window manager, never tried it though.

Melodie,
In the article there is a link to my ratpoison iso to accompany the article, feel free to try it out, I use ratpoison daily here , its by far teh best light window manager if you are limited to a non widescreen display of 1024x768 or less (including netbooks) its my joint favorite with euclid for wide screen machines
Everybody else,
Thanks for the comments , and encouragement, RAW is a go, and I will also produce (my progress on packaging depending ) a task-meta rpm for bringing in Latte (may call the package "make-mine-a-iced-latte") which then should open up o[tion for others to bring in similar meta packages. yet keeping a good strong mini-me inspired base, I even have some off kilter ideas for it too, more on that at a later date.

An idea flashed my brain! How about an Iced-Latte with IceWM only? It would be easier to support, wouldn't it? +1 A very big corporation is distributing IceWM.iso's to all it's employees to call the corporate headquarters. Many are called but few are chosen type of thing sounds like to me.

Longtom & Neal,
Potential good news for you, it seems that my as I helped my sister spend £400 on a new laptop (a nice lenovo), and have agree to "set it up" for her (it is by necessity a wimmachine - which is unfortunate), seems I will inherit her old Acer, which means I will have a machine that I could use solely for the development of RAW and a cold tasty beverage named spin off (rework) that may well be IceWM fronted (possibly even "themed" ). (may well have ratpoison on it too).
Longtom, that theme file you have for icewm - if you could forward a copy to me I will have that available out of the box.
I will focus on RAW first (as it willserve a purpose for at least myself) then redesign IcedLatte later on, at which stage I will attempt to get it to a point for the boss to aprove it officially.
Yea I like IceWM and Iced Latte - I just need to do a few things before I continue it
in the meantime enjoy RAW
Jase

Jase, I hope you mean this one, UltraBlack. Very nice work on the RAW Edition, by the way.

Good news indeed, Hootie!! Ultra Black is the one as djohnston rightly writes. You can use any background with it, the one I used is this one: Anybody else getting rid of an old laptop? I'd also like to have one to experiment with ... Christmas is just around the corner .... HoHoHo ...
