Burned Mylivecd can't boot

Hi everybody

i have have updated my system completely and put on a livecd.iso which worked fine.(3.5GB)
The burning went also ok!, now i rebooted the pc and used the livecd, but it hangs, right up the start
in the following line:     Loading vmlinuz......................................
                                Loading initrdgz......................................(after sometime appeared),,  isolinux:disk error 10
                                                                                             ax=4280   drive ef     
i repeated the process of making the livecd again with the same results. In both cases i used Brasero and K3B and burned in Windows XP using Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 Free and and CD BurnerXP too. 
I ask for help becaise i don't know what could be the reason of failing.

Hi lobster,

it sound like a bad burning/bad media!

boot your installed system, open a console as administrator and try the following commands:
md5sum <your iso image filename>

put the dvd into the DVD unit and type:
md5sum /dev/sr0

compare the results.

It doesn't seem the case, but ..., consider that if you are running and older kernel ( < 2.6.38.8 ) you need to specify a compression option different from the default (xz) when you create the iso with mylivecd.

In addition to as' wise words you could also try the iso in Virtualbox prior to burning the CD.

Hi as:
The proposed comparison gave me not the same md5sum among the burned dvd and the iso on the hd,
additonally i check in synaptic and found that i still have 2.6.33.5 pclos1.bs, which mean according to you that i should burn the iso differently.
Now i don't know how to do it, or should i update my kernel? how i know if the new kernel would work for my system?

The next time you write an iso image, try to use the lowest possible speed, and of course, at the end of the process verify the md5sum again.

Using that older kernel you should use mylivecd --lzma ...

Now i don't know how to do it, or should i update my kernel? how i know if the new kernel would work for my system?

Upon installation of a new kernel, the older one is not removed, therefore you will be able to boot using the newly installed kernel (default) or to manually select the previous one. If you feel however unsure, you can download a recent PCLinuxOS ISO (2011-06 or 2011-07) and start it as liveCD, they provide kernels 2.6.38.8.x.

Hi As:

I'm happy with the result of applying your advice regarding the kernel update. I just did't i burned the livecd, but surprise!!
came out again wrong, and this time  i just burned again using another DVD brand and the result was  OK!!
Evidently it was also not only the kernel, but the DVD brand too.
