Hello!

I just bought a Nuforce Icon Udac2. It's a USB Digital Audio Converter which I use with a pair of active loudspeakers.
It's working fine with Amarok, but not with Clementine ,YouTube or Firefox. Huh
I have tried changing Kmix and Multimedia-->Phonon settings with no success.
Any tips anyone?

Do you have and need any other sound source in your PC?

If you do not need any other then I suggest you disable them in BIOS if on board, or maybe unplug the card if not.

The try again .....  it may be that the sound from the other devices is being sent to another sound device ...  HDMI, on board sound card or plug in sound card ...  or even another sound device attached via USB or bluetooth.

Alternatively, my personal preference, install task-pulse and properly enable Pulse Audio in the PC, which should give you access to control where the sound from each app is sent .....  through PulseAudio Volume Control.

Additional to Just19's post you may want to consider installing qasmixer (Sound Mixer for the Linux Desktop) which is the repo's.  This gives far more control than KMix

I installed task-pulseaudio, pavucontrol and padevchooser. And enabled Pulse Audio.
When I try to start pavucontrol, it tells me "Connection failed: Connection refused".

I also tried qasmixer. It shows Nuforce as a card with others. When I choose it, the only option I get is the PCM-volume.

Sorry! I really don't have that much experience of soundcards and their configurations! Roll Eyes

I disabled on board sound card in BIOS, but unfortunately it didn't help either.

Did you reboot immediately after enabling PulseAudio in PCC?
