Pardon me if this question was asked before. I saw in news that 64bit is available. But in downloads I can't. Could any one help with this? Thanks again for  a wonderful distro.

Texstar is still working on the 64-bit version. No word yet on when it will be available. He releases when it's ready and has been thoroughly tested, and not before.

Welcome to the forum! This sure is a popular question!  Grin  djohnston summed things up pretty good, it's in the works and Texstar has posted the packages that are built on Twitter. Like everything around here, it is worth the wait.  Grin

As you can probably guess by now, the question has been asked many times before.  Wink I'm sure you can also see that we are happy to have you here, regardless of all that - welcome home!

Wondering what news source that was? When it comes to PCLinuxOS news, for me the only reliable source for the latest is Tex's twitter page linked in tschommer's post.

It is really hot here and I know it is even hotter in Texas. Texstar works hard enough keeping the 32 bit packages up to date and the last thing I want to do would be to pester him about the 64 bit release. It's ready when it's ready is good enough for me. Texstar does so much for so many and I figure the least I can do is let him work in peace and be patient. There are so many packages involved with having a 64 bit release, it takes time and a lot of hard work. I am perfectly happy running the 32 bit release but I do plan on passing out some 64 bit CDs to my co-workers that want to run the 64 bit version when it is ready. I am in no hurry and I want Texstar to have some time to relax.

PCLinuxOS 64 bit packages now at 4500.

My suggestions are to hang on tightly to your excitement and to consider this page ---

Your donations support PCLinuxOS. And I'd bet Texstar could use a nice soft pillow to put in his chair.

Or a woven wicker chair seat, with a nice up blowing fan.  Grin Grin

Of course this only works well in no-fart zones.  Grin Grin Wink

Do not use medicated gold bond power in sensitive areas! At first it is nice & cool. Then it starts burning. Then you do Indian rain dance!

I plan on making a donation after I get 3 months of bills caught back up.... I just recently returned to work after having that reconstructive surgery on my foot.

Edit: I did see the post where Texstar was pushing out 64 bit packages and agree with you guys that he could use something better to sit on.  Grin Grin Grin
