How do I remove the prop. video drivers please

I have been playing with this distro for a few days and I'm very favorably impressed, especially with being able to revert back to earlier kernels!!!, 2.6.36/7 were the last reliable ones all the later ones have problems including the 3.0.
My problem is:
I made an ISO of the install on my dev machine but when I installed it to my main machine which uses a 40" tv as a monitor the graphics are screwed, It don't fit on the screen properly.
There is a setting on the tv for 16:8 and pclos has set itself to this and I'm unable to use my normal setting of "just scan" so I think I need to remove the Catalyst drivers and revert back to the Linux video drivers.
So my question is how do I do it please, all your help is very appreciated

Menu > More Applications > Configuration > Configure Your Computer (PCLinuxOS Control Center) >>> Hardware > Configure video card. Set it up to use the driver you want.
You may want to do a forum search on using a tv as a monitor.
