OBJECTS IN MIRROR... ARE LOSING

« on: July 13, 2011, 08:23:43 PM »

Installed PCLinuxOS 2011.6 and updated fully, added some codecs, Spanish locale and draklive-install.

Tried to remaster and all seems to go Ok, except there are some legends about something is in the future.

It says that it created the iso but there is none.

Never happened so I don't understand. BTW the date and time are the same in PCC and KDE configuration window.

What can I do?

A long read AndrzejL I will try to understand it

But, why it just doesn't work as before?

su  -  root password  -  umount -a  -  mylivecd name.iso

That always did it, I installed just what I want, I don't need to exclude anything.

This is what I use on a fully updated system with the latest kernel.

The future message is due to a timezone difference between you and when a package was created and installed. Normally that will go away when your timezone catches up to the time I created the package.

Shocked    Thank you, I will wait until tomorrow.

Seems obvious, I was intrigued because just yesterday I did just the same with the LXDE 2011.6  and worked like always.

Windows? Naah. Now, clowns… that's another story.

I had the same issue here.  My work around was to set the system date +1 week into the future.  Works fine then.

I had asked about this a while back and found that if I rebooted after running Bleachbit one time the problem went away. Even with the time stamp in the future I could still make a perfectly usable Live / Install CD.

You may need to travel at 80mph to boot it though Crow   Cheesy

It didn't work.

Today tried to remaster again and I don't find the .iso  so just reinstalled, went through the process of update, change locales, put codecs and draklive-install and found that the debian repository is not updated, changed repositories, updated again and after going to the medic for a small ear problem (my wife yells too much  Grin  ) I'm trying to remaster again.

Created 'kdebase.iso' (861,990,912 bytes) in 00:13:33

As you can see it says it created kdebase.iso BUT I don't find it.

Any ideas about what is happening here?

Hi Crow,

are you sure that the ISO has not been created ?
it should be in root's home: /root/kdebase.iso

Could you try a command ?

ls -l /root/kdebase.iso

if still not found, try this one: (will require a few minutes...)

find / -name kdebase.iso

You are welcome!

the iso image is always created in the 'current' directory, and when you started mylivecd you were in :
Quote
root@localhost ~]# mylivecd kdebase.iso
which is /root.
