Problems with sound (really with mike). Probably the main problem is me and my lack of understand with the mixer. My sound card is listed under sound in the Control Center. I can hear but can not use Skype as an example because the mike seems to be dead. Below is the entry on the CC.
Any help would be appreciated and I hope I have included enough info. I am running 11.6 updated to latest updates.

Try setting audio device priority in systemsettings > Multimedia > Phonon > Audio capture.
Depending on whether Pulseaudio is enabled or not, look at Audio devices section in Skype settings. sometimes there's a list of devices for both output and input.

Hi Chipotle - one quick thing you could try is opening the KMix Mixer window and checking that the MIC isn't turned right down or turned off completely

Thanks and is now working. I enabled pulseaudio and after some fiddling with setting it worked.. Thank guys. I had never heard of Pulse Audio. LOL...But
