I don't believe it for a minute! You are not the least bit sorry for being annoying. Smiley

Hey some more questions...  On my other PCLOS system I'm using Compiz.  I tried to install it on the new one, but Synaptic won't install it because of broken dependencies.  I'm working with a clean system that started as alot, and was fully updated with Synaptic so it's probably 11.06 now.

1) Should I even want to install Compiz?

2) How would I go about doing that?

thanks

Hey buckeye,
looks to me you are on FullMonty? If so then Compiz is blocked on purpose because installing it would screw up your FM-desktop. So no Compiz with FullMonty, sorry.

Yes, I'm on FM.  Thanks for the answer.

As a summary, I was unable to install two video drivers.  I did go as far as edit the xorg.conf file and include the two devices with their separate PCI bus ID's.  After having done that and checking my work, I still could not get X to start so I gave up.  However, it was probably not a worthwhile solution anyway because it was very easy and not too terribly expensive to get two 1920x1080 monitors running with an inexpensive dual head nVidia video card. The nVidia configuration tool makes it a snap.

Thanks for everyone's help.
