How about you giving us some serious information about your hardware specs for a start. Think in terms of, " My car won't run... what's wrong... how do I fix it?" How far do you think even a master mechanic would get with that information alone?

Do you mean you can't run the LiveCD session? Or you installed KDE on the hard drive and you are with greyed buttons? What/which buttons? There is a way to help but information you give is rather unclear. Try please to describe what did you do, what was expected and what is wrong.

never mind, i finally got it to install and i got the programs to load but still they are just a frozen picture. i am chalking it off as just another distro that is not compatible with my computer. looks good tho. i am still using the last compatible version (2009), but it is now unsupported. i home built this computer a while back and even i do not know what it is made of. i do not have a lot of time to screw around with distros that are not compatible with my computer, i am more of an end user now, not a trouble shooter or experimenter.
thanks for your effort,
James

Good luck jamesam1243,
You may continue to have issues with any distro running the latest kernel and latest xorg with that machine. You may have to look at static distros targeting legacy hardware.

The command lshw ("list hardware" I suppose) ran from terminal gives a good information about it. When you'd be asked in the forums about your hardware you can post its output.

Right and jamesam1243 was able to install the 2010 iso, but 2011 gave video issues likely from the xorg update. Probably an old video card. So any distro running latest xorg will be an issue unless there is some sort of "xorg wizard" at live CD boot offering the choice of vesa, etc.
