KDE4 fully updated

A strange problem appeared today and I can't figure whats gone wrong.

Switching desktops now gives the cube a blue hue instead of just being transparent as it was.
The hue is so strong it completely obscures the cube decoration. It just looks like a palid blue
cube rotating instead of the nice image designs it had before.

Everything is up to date including the kernel. I rolled back to the prvious kernel to check it
and the same problem. The cube is still transparent but it has a pale but distinct blue hue to it.

This cropped up out of the 'blue' so to speak  Roll Eyes.

Something has decided to take a dive but what I don't know. I have pawed over the compiz settings
but nothing has changed that I can see.
