I happened to notice that PCLinuxOS shot up to number 2 for 7 days on DistroWatch this morning! I know these stats are not an accurate measurement but it is encouraging seeing a very good release move up. Things like this make me think that just maybe people are seeing how high quality PCLinuxOS is. I know everyone here knows what I mean by that.  Grin Anyway, it's great seeing such a well built operating system and good people doing well!

I imagine they'll be a lot of interest since the 2011-06 announcement, and new members arriving on the forum.

I visited, and clicked through, and came across this review
http://www.zdnet.co.uk/blogs/jamies-mostly-linux-stuff-10006480/pclinuxos-kde-20116-released-10022982/

Something mentioned in the review struck me ....

Thanks for reading and commenting to both. I had seen the LXDE ISOs in the download directory, but was not saying much about them until I saw something on the main web page. I have already picked up the images, and will be giving them a try today.

Seems some are waiting for an announcement on the main page for the other DEs as they become available.

Will each get a separate mention in Distrowatch I wonder?
Would that put PCLOS into the dreaded 1st spot again  Sad   shudder ...  shudder ...

I used to not understand why people did not want PCLinuxOS to stay at the number one spot but I understand now. I just want to see all of the hard work that was done get the credit it deserves. I am sure there will be new people coming into the forum and I hope that they are here for the right reasons. PCLinuxOS represents quality and doing things the right way to me and I hope that others would see the same thing. I enjoy running PCLinuxOS and the time I spend on the forum and I would like to see others enjoy the same great experience. The best of the Linux world is right here.  Grin

Some of the ones that aren't crazy might stick around and want a pass server account or a nice PCLinuxOS coffee mug!  Grin

But pagehit rankings for the last 7 days shows PCLinuxOS as the #2 most popular distro.

I imagine they'll be a lot of interest since the 2011-06 announcement, and new members arriving on the forum.
I have used Linux since 2004 and I visit other Linux forums and I'm an active member of one or two. No other Linux distro is mentioned as much as PCLinuxOS in other forums. The comments are complements. I don't think any other Linux Distribution is as respected as PCLinuxOS or is any other developer as admired as Tex and our other developers. Tex is mentioned and admired all over the Linux community. PCLinuxOS is the operating system I use every day and I'm proud to be a member of our community.  Smiley Smiley
