I upgraded the system this day and later the pointer of the touchpad doesn't work (all the buttons works fine). I tried the 4 possible solutions posted by Texstar in this thread http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,93473.0.html but none of them works to me. The hard info is a SynPS/2 Synaptics Touchpad and the Laptop is a Acer Aspire 5610. I'm surprised with the fine working buttons. Please, if anybody has any idea to solve this trouble I'd really appreciate it. Best wishes and thank's in advance. P.D: Excuse me for my poor English.

Solution 2 was on the LiveCD so if it worked when you installed 2011.6 then there is no reason it should not work now.

Hi raregazz, Are you fully updated? If not, you might be better off installing from a fresh, new iso, otherwise you will have a very large update. look here: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,80110.0.htmlIf you are fully updated, did you look here? http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,93473.0.html

Hi johnmart.
For the first question the answer is yes, my desktop is fully updated because I update my system every 3-4 days.
For the second question as I said in the first comment I tried the 4 possible solutions of Texstar Tip and Tricks Post and none of them fix my problem.
Many thank's for your time, and my best wishes.

I have same problem with my touchpad. I have an Asus EEE PC 901 buttons work fine and two finger scrolling works great but no double tap. This wasn't working in live cd 2011.6 and still isnt working after installation and dist-upgrade.

Have you tried any of these configuration settings? http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,93473.0.html

I have experienced the same (or similar) effect of Synaptic not working correctly and just 'scrolling' after the driver update. This was 3 days ago and my "solution" was to reinstall the iso 2011-6 and NOT make the upgrade!! I should have waited...... - solution 1 works fine on my Toshiba. Thank goodness for this excellent forum and thanks Texstar! w.

I had the same issue with a Dell Inspiron 910, a MSI Wind, and a Toshiba laptop. All fully updated and running KDE. Fixed it by going to Synaptic and downloading & installing "synaptiks". After installing go to "Configure Your Desktop". On the left menu "Touchpad" will be a stand-alone entry or can be found in "Input Devices" or "Lost and Found". Once found, you can configure your touchpad. Select the "tapping" tab, look about 2/3 down on the right for "tapping with one finger" and change "disabled" to "left mouse". You may have to log out & in for it to take effect. Happy tapping!

Mine says that the synaptiks daemon is not running. I tried solution #1 http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,93473.msg785223.html#msg785223I wonder, should I try one of the other solutions there? Fujitsu Lifebook T4210

Many, many thanks for your tip. Removing package kcm_touchpad and installing synaptiks solved my problem. I don't know why with de kcm_touchpad package didn't work... My best regards and wishes.
