Neal, I'm dying to load this on a laptop I have reserved for it. After I burned the iso using my main laptop. I try to install it on the new one and the optical drive is toast. &^%(&^)^_)(*(*&(*&(&*)()_(. You get the drift. Can't wait to fix it then get this loaded. From all the accolades it is receiving , I can't wait.  |

......Another successful test.... Friends custom Whitebox....Presently running mepis kde 3.5.10 -2.6.27-1 linux... PCLOS 2011.06 LXDE : LiveCD.... MB: Intel D865gbf - Intel P4 - 3.0 g Memory : 1024mb (2x512) Hd: Samsung 40g ide Video: Intel 82865G integrated graphics (intel 810 and later driver)ethernet: 8256ez/10/100 sound: intel 82801eb/er[ich5/ich5r ac97 ALSA - snd_intel8x0 450 watt ANTEC power supply. basic tests - everything works. {as suspected}....  JN. |

Another success!
PCLinuxOS LXDE 2011.6 successfully installed on my old desktop:
AMD Athlon XP (Barton core) 3000+
MSI nForce2 board
ATI 9600XT
512MB RAM
No problems, yet. Running as snappy as this old machine can.

Had a look at the LXDE versions a few days ago, i think i'm going with the full edition on the netbook. It's looking great.  I noticed on the PcLinuxOs LXDE page that it still points out 635 MB size of the full edition iso but the new one is 606 MB in size.  I checked the size by right-click > properties in PCManFM. It showed 635 MB. I've just checked with Thunar, and it shows 605.5 MB.  Sheesh. |

Neal, I think that (from memory) thgat PCManFM defaults to 1000kb=1mb , wher as thunar uses 1024 iirc I read there is a headerfile that can be changed at build time to set it back to 1024) Jase |

On my main machine (laptop) i'm running PcLinuxOs 2011.6 KDE and downloaded the LXDE iso with FF5. It showed it had to download 606 MB, Dolphin gave me the same result as yours with Thunar 605,5 MB after the download. Anyway... the most important thing is that the LXDE full edition is running great on the netbook. That little machine isn't getting that hot anymore compared to other distro's i've used. Awesome production Neal and thank you for this release. Love It!!! |
