I own a hp mini 110 with an Intel atom 2XX processor, 1gig ram, and 160 gig hdd running pclinuxos 2010.12 . for as long as i have ran this setup  i have always been able to go in and out of suspend and hibernate without any problems whether it was when closing the lid or manually clicking them. about a month or so ago i updated to 2011/ the full Monty (not exactly sure what it called) and noticed that when i came out of suspend video would play choppy to the point of unwatchable and everything would run slower. today i ran another  update ( having not updated it since the one previously mentioned) and now neither hibernate nor suspend work at all  no matter what i do. all that happens is the screen locks, then goes blank , then the wireless disconnects, then reconnects, then returns to the locked screen. in hibernate it does something slightly different  where after the screen locks the suspending screen pops up , then returns to the locked desktop .

I was wondering if it was probably something in the updates, a conflicting program that is causing this

any help would be appreciated

thank you

Have you checked if there is an update available for the BIOS of your netbook? My Acer Aspire One was giving me grief with suspend, but googling gave me the idea to hunt for a bios upgrade, and now it suspends and hibernates beautifully. Smiley
