Graphically:
Menu > More Applications > Configuration > EZswitch. --- You can switch between the themes that you have installed using this app. It will generate a list of the themes you have installed from which you can choose a theme to use.

Command line:
Open your terminal (konsole for KDE users) and enter these commands --
Code:
su

give root password at the prompt --
Code:
cd /usr/share/plymouth/themes

Code:
remove-theme

You can skip this step, but it is beneficial in that it helps to keep your initrd.img from becoming too large.

Code:
switch-themes >>name-of-theme<<

Instead of >>name-of-theme<<, use the name of the theme you are switching to. -- Note that the names are case sensitive. The name you enter must be an exact match to the name of the theme folder in /usr/share/plymouth/themes. Examples: PCLinuxOS, LXDE-Flight, legacy and RadicallySimple.

Thanks for answering my dumb Question  Wink  (Past my bedtime)

I may wait till after the dust settles with this Software Update before fiddling, mainly as I'm not skilled in the Art of PCLOS.

A good time to backup as advised by Texstar concerning present graphics, if you want to retain them.

Thankyou very much Neal.
I have that Thread - Plymouth themes, "Bookmarked", but it looks bigger than last I read it so thanks for the heads up. Smiley

Anyone who may feel they have no Control over their Theme due to Updates via Synaptic, should read:
1.) Software Update: KDE 4.6.4 Desktop
2.) Plus, the Thread Neal suggested: Plymouth themes

Please read the first post by Neal to gain the wisdom he's offering, before other issues were raised by me.
Excellent knowledge to put in a txt Doc for reference, and, or just apply.

I'm a PCLinuxOS Idiot.  Sad

p.s. Sorry, if I took this off thread Neal, trying to help if I can.

I believe that goes into the "additional info" category, Francis. Smiley
