Hi

In PCC I chose to have 3d . I rebooted and all seemed ok. But only the tray and the window decorations are visible, nothing in the window itself could be seen, only black. Also the menu is ok and I can start programs. - Trouble is that I can not see the PCC to get back to the previous setup with no 3d. So this is sent via a live cd.  Huh

i described this problem one week ago on another post after the xorg update

it is probable that you have a old ati video card

the update sort of abandoned old ati cards

there is a attempt to force it to work with 3d again but at the moment kwin or compiz won't work

disable 3d and use it without effects, it is bad but not that bad

if you try kwin and it fails identically or worse be sure to cancel any changes, if you accept you could have to edit some files logged as root

If you can open a Konsole do so and enter:

drakconf

That will start PCC - you'll have to supply password of course.....

Hi T6 and menotu

I could not repair so i made a reinstall leaving my home partition untouched. - I tried to rename xorg.conf.old to xorg.conf. But that did not help.
Funny thing is that it has worked on this machine with the exception that the buttons in upper right corner was not seen.
Thank You for help.
