If you haven't already tried it, try running the browser from a fresh restart without trying the desktop sound apps etc; I was thinking maybe the sound is being "held" by something else and not releasing it to your browser.
Do the browsers have add-ons enabled - mebbe try starting with them disabled to rule them out of the mix
Sorry...I had other problems pop up with it so I deleted that one, it was PCLOS 2010.12 --- don't know what the problem was, it was deleted in July 2010 when I moved on to other projects, so I never did find out what the problem(s) was/were! I had sound in the main OS (Windows 7 64-bit) and sound in the vm itself, just not while browsing internet sites like youtube (or any other that had a flash video / sound)...the videos played alright, just no sound?

Oh, well - - - I may try "re-installing" that version of PCLOS in a vm to see if I can recreate the problem (I still have the settings file for that "install")?
