I had a lot of problems with my PC freezing as soon as I plugged in my new Netgear WN111v2 Wireless-N USB Adapter. This was solved in this thread:
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,89266.msg747422.html#msg747422However, although the freezing up/crashing problem is fixed, the device doesn't work and can't connect to the internet. I was asked to do the following:
In your new thread do the following
1. Open the terminal, log in as root and then type this command "service syslog start"
2. Unplug the usb dongle, wait for two seconds, plug it back in, wait for three seconds and then run this command and give its output. "cat /var/log/syslog | tail -n 20"
OK, Did that:
[root@localhost adrian]# cat /var/log/syslog | tail -n 20
