I like simple wallpapers and yours too. As the Sun is rising you should move the trash off the top. Also add some hippo kidie to the wall, making it more personal.

Hi longtom, I like your wallpaper. If it were me I'd put the 3 icons into your dock... that's what it's for. I'd move/do away with the PCLinuxOS brand lower right as it interferes with your dock.
Just my $.02

In addition to Dave's suggestions, a two-tone gradient (lighter to darker) might also give the rays a bit more depth.

My simple desktop. Reptilian wallpaper courtesy of yesterday's trip to the zoo.

My first for this month: Archie, this is awesome! Thanks, Rudge. I spent a bit of time GIMPing all the unneeded pixels around the whiskers so it would look 'cleaner'. **EDIT** My latest on virtual desktop 2... power up, ignition.

All comments good or bad is fine Pls critic me One last thing I would maybe do in addition to the other great suggestions here, is match the color of the rising sun to the lettering at upper right (or perhaps move away from that shade to a more strongly contrasting one), and increase saturation a tad also on the rising sun itself. Nice work, your wallpapers have gotten better with every effort, I like the blue one you just posted a lot!
