3D desktop effects

I must be missing something, i do not have a "3D desktop effects" button under "configure your computer>hardware"
been reading about it and want to enable "compiz fusion". any idea,s out there.

compiz is not the same as kde desktop effects ramchu
first the problem, then the workarounds, also you assumed that he is using kde4, first ask
what pclinux are you using? (iso and desktop)
have you updated it recently?
partial updates must not be done
also hardware specs are helpful, including video card and ram available

KDE4 already comes with desktop effects built in (see ramchu's post) so compiz was left off the LiveCD to save space and to avoid confusion with duplicated 3D effects. If you want to install compiz you would want to select and install task-3ddesktop. This task will pull in all the required dependencies to run compiz. Also it will install drak3d which is the control module to enable compiz from the Configure Your Computer menu entry.
