Linux Rocks!

« on: March 21, 2011, 09:01:07 PM »

I can hear sounds when I play either music or videos as well as system sounds but I cannot hear any sounds when I'm using Firefox v3.6.13, like on YouTube, etcetera? It can't be VMWare tools not being installed as I can hear system sounds and when I listen to music or videos "offline"! Sound is turned up all the way as well as turned up all the way on YouTube...so, what could be the problem?

Thanks,
QBall

P.S.
I'm using VMWare v3.1.3 build-324285

I had similar problem and after a lot of searching have just found the answer to my problem, on this forum.
I am unable to find that post again, but my thanks to who ever posted it.
Solution:-
Using Synaptic    >
Uninstall flash the plug-in >
Re-boot     >
Re-install flash plug-in  >
Re-boot.
Good Luck

If TNTman's advice doesn't work you could also try

You may be sticking with Firefox 3.6.13 for various reasons (addon compatibility etc), but on the slight off chance you are unaware, Firefox 4 is in the repos
