Hi Gang,
I read the reviews about the Corsair H70 Liquid Cooling Kit. Nice piece of gear! I have an Asus A8N-SLI Premium MB with an AMD Athlon X 64 4600 CPU. tHE SOCKET 939 is not listed on the specs as compatible with the unit. I emailed the manufactures about a week ago. Got no reply. So joined Tom's hardware forum, asked if any one knew if, and where i may be able to get an adapter plate for the socket 939 asus board. This bloke replied that "he had mounted one of these on a socket 939 with the adapters which are included in the kit. I went ahead and ordered it here in Qld. I took this blokes word for it, like a bloody fool!! The 4600's and 4800's run a fair bit warmer than the 3800's so thought it would be great for my set up especially living here in Qld, Aus. No bloody way will it fit!! Forked out $154.00 aussie dollars for it. Not a happy chappy at present.  Angry   Angry  Embarrassed  This board and Cpu, though old in model ,are only about 2 years old, tough as nails and will probably outlive me! Any way people, has any one heard of or know of any one who makes custom adapter plates for this onto a socket 939 ? You guys in the US , would hear / know much more goss about this type of stuff than what we get here in Aus. Ive google searched till blue in the face. Pretty red in the face at present with anger. Thanks very much people.     Cry        Link to the manufacturers site below :

Solved by using the original Asus heatsink plate, turning it upside down and a bit of filling out on each end adjacent to where the 2 lockdown screws go. Will endeavor to have a proper lightweight aluminum custom plate made. Bloke i knew who did engineering with a lot of aluminum, large and small projects, seems to have flown the coupe!! If any one gets into the same situation with the same board set up. I will go into more detail as to how i did it. The Corsair fans supplied are bloody loud!! I have taken them out and put far quiter ones in. Not as much air flow, but still plenty and doing the job really nice. Much cooler running CPU now, and more constant. Temp does not fluctuate nearly as much. Even under heavy load, like video editing.
Cheers for now,
Wayne.             Very tired out Wayne!!! but happy i could come up with some way to make it bolt down.   Smiley  Smiley
