In a prior thread, whitelisting ip's was mentioned as a good way to secure xp. I've been looking for a way to do this and have come up empty. I want to set it up so only computers on my lan can access the xp guest. Some direction would be deeply appreciated.

Do you have a home router?  That should fix your problem right there.

You can whitelist IP's using XP's firewall, but I do not recommend it.  You have to go to the Security Policies inside the Group Policy plugin (gpedit.msc).  Again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND doing this.

I have IPCOP and 2 routers. The host machine requires internet access, the guest does not.

Then you should be fine.  I would not worry about a hacker remotely compromising your machine.  Just be careful when browsing the Internet with the XP Guest.
