ASIO output has seemed to work in my early testing.

Virtualbox:
ASIO4ALL v2.8 inputs are detected and audio is there, but it's heavily clipped, and sounds just plain wrong.
Blackbox USB ASIO inputs are the same, completely useless.

This has happened with all the settings I have tried, sampling rates, etc.

I am trying to run Windoze audio recording/studio stuff and not having input channels that don't sound like _ _ _ _ is pretty much a deal killer.

I have also tinkered with Wine/WineASIO and PlayonLinux/WineASIO with no joy as far as input for recording.

Anybody had any luck with recording input on Windoze programs ?

Thanks!

Are there alternative Linux programs you could try?

Interface support is normally restricted to Microsoft Windows, since other operating systems (e.g. Apple's Mac OS X or Linux) do not have such mixer latency problems

...and by-pass the use of ASIO completely?

Yes, and no .
Both Ardour and Audacity function well as far as basic audio recording,
but lack the ability to use the wide range of plugins available for Windoze,
both of these do have plugins available,
but Antares ( pitch correction, not to be confused with LADSPA pitch changers ),
Amplitube ( Cool guitar amp emulator )
And the list goes on ...
Audacity does not do MIDI
Ardour kind of does, but I have not had any luck mapping my controller knobs to it.
VSTi (instruments) do not work with either of these as far as I know.
Oh well...

The actual programs ( FL studio, Sony Acid, Amplitube, Antares, VST's, Etc. ) can be run and seem to work OK, I just cant get any functional external input due to the ASIO problems.

Oh well...

Thanks,
