Laserjet 2200D parallel port connection. Worked fine up until the massive upgrade of a week or so ago, maybe even a few days
after that.  Now it mostly doesn't print.  Going to configure your computer>Control Center>Hardware>configure printing and scanning then in the Def. column there's an X, but everything else looks normal, and the State column says enabled.
But when I go to print from an email, say, or a pdf file, it doesn't print.  Then, maybe after futzing around a bit, the printer
might print something I tried to print 2o minutes ago--or it might not.  Here's the whole line:
Def.  Printer Name          State        Model              Connection Type            Description          Location
X     HP LaserJet 2200   Enabled  HPLaserJet2200  HP printer on parallel port  HPLaserJet 2200     (blank)
When I try to print something, the box only offers "print to file".  In addition to that, I used to be able to see my HP color
printer thru the router and a laptop that has PCLOS  running on it, altho I haven't actually set up a network.  That's gone too.

How do I get back to what I used to have?  I haven't upgraded the laptop, and I could copy some files to a flash drive and
bring them over here as replacements, if I knew what files.  Or tell me what I have to do.
Thanx--doug, going to Windows for now, where I can print.

Reply to my own post:  I went thru the setup once again, right after entering the whold magilla above.  Now the printer prints,
altho its name is slightly different, and I'm seeing the color printer again. Huh

Puzzled--doug
