"dmidecode" in console
«

I just stumbled across this CLI command on another web site, maybe it's common knowledge to some of our gurus, but I had never seen it before. Run ,dmidecode, as root in a console and it will tell you everything you want to know about your system. Very informative, I learned I could overclock my processor, an AMD 3500, running at 2.211 mhz up 3.0. lots of neat info. hope this helps.

quite interesting,
the first thing that come to my mind are a couple of thread related to some system unable to see the full 4Gb installed ram, even if using pae kernels,
it could be very interesting to see how their system reply to
dmidecode --type memory
.
