"I just "upgraded" to libre-office."
openoffice was abandoned, libreoffice is not a upgrade, nobody forced you to install libreoffice or remove opemoffcie, if ou need it again install it by hand, it is not that hard
"I am thinking now, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.""
with this attitude your post will be ignored
Thanks for the reply. I never suggested that anyone forced me to "upgrade". The only thing I was forced to do was to uninstall openoffice in order to install and try libreoffice. I already made another post a few days ago asking about reinstalling openoffice in case libreoffice had some issues for my usage.
http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,87512.0.html"Upgraded" is in quotes to indicate that I understand it is not a real direct "upgrade" of openoffice, per se, but rather is the open office software upgraded by the document foundation.
"If it ain't broken, don't fix it" is more so pointing the finger at me. OpenOffice was working entirely adequately for me (and I am FULLY aware of the fact that the present incarnation of LO has very few differences than the most up-to-date openoffice). So, for me to install libreoffice which presently isn't gonna do much (if anything) better for me than OO does is kind'a silly. I could have also said "Dulwithe! Leave well enough alone!"
BTW, I was returning to this post to delete it since I got the problem solved. I had to change ALL the language locale settings in the LO "Options" "Language Settings" module before the pages would default to 8.5x11
