Hello All,

I just "upgraded" to libre-office.

I have the same problem I had with OpenOffice here:

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,84626.msg702068/topicseen.html#msg702068

Specifically, the page sizes are all screwed up on my previously made documents.  Unfortunately, when I try the same method as posted in the above thread, it does not work.  When I go into "Options" "Language Settings" and set to "English USA", the change does not stick and it has no effect on my documents.

Any ideas??

I am thinking now, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

"I just "upgraded" to libre-office."

openoffice was abandoned, libreoffice is not a upgrade, nobody forced you to install libreoffice or remove opemoffcie, if ou need it again install it by hand, it is not that hard

Thanks for the reply.  I never suggested that anyone forced me to "upgrade".  The only thing I was forced to do was to uninstall openoffice in order to install and try libreoffice.  I already made another post a few days ago asking about reinstalling openoffice in case libreoffice had some issues for my usage.

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,87512.0.html

"Upgraded" is in quotes to indicate that I understand it is not a real direct "upgrade" of openoffice, per se, but rather is the open office software upgraded by the document foundation.

"If it ain't broken, don't fix it" is more so pointing the finger at me.  OpenOffice was working entirely adequately for me (and I am FULLY aware of the fact that the present incarnation of LO has very few differences than the most up-to-date openoffice).  So, for me to install libreoffice which presently isn't gonna do much (if anything) better for me than OO does is kind'a silly.  I could have also said "Dulwithe!  Leave well enough alone!"

BTW, I was returning to this post to delete it since I got the problem solved.  I had to change ALL the language locale settings in the LO "Options" "Language Settings" module before the pages would default to 8.5x11

Sorry to hear you are having troubles.  I reckon I am out of tips this time.

What I did do so was change my setting to US and my paper size was letter - and it sticked.  As a matter of fact libre asked me to restart for the changes to take effect.

I changed it back to UK/ZA and I had my A4 back.  Same thing, asked to restart libre and all was fine.

I am writing above that your problem does not appear to be libres fault but has to be searched somewhere else.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, this is not a fault of LibreOffice, per se, but moreso a carry-over from OO.

At any rate, I did get everything working okay.

Thanks again.
