At the moment i can NOT try E17 ... I have only 2 computers in use. Monique her Packard Bell is total loss, the screen and also the computer, and he is 4 Years new. The old Dell is for my grandson... Games. And i use the KDE4. I just need money to buy a new computer, i can use my Intel to try... Now i am stuck here. Bad...bad... Greetings, Pencil1
In synaptic install task-enlightenment to add e17 next to kde4 on your current pclinxuos, in the kdm login screen you can choose to log in to kde4 or e17 (or login twice into each of the dekstops :p )

Me too. I had the inclination last night to add e17 to my current MiniMe... which was totally awesome! And now I want an official release!

Though not "official", Linuxera has an updated iso of her "Summer Fairy" which is E17 built on PCLinuxOS 2011. Its a very good iso. http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,96151.msg812626.html#msg812626

Man, E17 is very cool. I am just trying it for the first time.
Unfortunately, its dev team is so small that I do not know if it will ever see a non-beta version. It reminds me of driving a convertible. A lot of fu, but do I really want it as my main workhorse? Sad, because they do something genuinely different, and do it very well. I almost wish the Gnome devs would have a look and see different done right. With some more resources this could very well be the choice of Linux desktops....

Not necessarily GermanTux the core is the same stable PCLinuxOS you know, if you think the DE may stop working at some point just install task LXDE or any alternative DE you do want, in case e17 fails just start your session using your alternative desktop environment and start working. I have made that for years now in my work laptop, saved my work once from a KDE4 failure
