Have come across a similar problem to this one.

Browsing certain webpages causes corruption of the display on Firefox, Dolphin, Thunderbird, etc.

I have deleted the /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file and disabled hardware acceleration. Initially this seemed to have fixed the problem. However, it's back again as before. Example: browsing to this page causes the Flash animation in the top right hand of the page to embed itself, or part of itself, into whatever window I open. Interestingly, it doesn't seem to do it with Chromium, just with Firefox. Does Chromium use the system Flash player, or does it incorporate it's own?

Dual core AMD64, nVidia GeForce 8xxx series, system updated and using latest nvidia driver from repo.

I went to that site and had no problems. Do you have any firefox plugins installed?

Hmm... yes, I have a list of them.  I'll try it in safe mode.

Edit. The problem is still there in safe mode, though it now appears to be corruption of the image in that web page only, it hasn't spread to other windows.  Oops, now has started to spread to other windows as well. Does appear to a problem with Flash. Note that this doesn't happen if I just open the page, it is triggered by opening the page, then clicking on the drop down menu on the left, at which point the image starts becoming corrupted. Presumably the image is cached between pages.

I just tested the site again, this time testing the menus on the left. Still, I encounter no problems. I have noscript and adblock+ installed. I select 'temporarily allow all from this site' to allow the javascript to run. I can't duplicate the problem, so I may not be able to help. I re-read your post and didn't see where you said which version of PCLinuxOS you are using and if you are fully updated, etc.

Hi,

have had a similar problem, and the only solution that worked for me has been a downgrade of plash-player-plugin

Thanks AS. Still unclear as to why Chromium doesn't suffer. Not the only issue I've experienced with Firefox recently unfortunately. Perhaps it might be time to adopt another browser.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. PCLOS 2010, all updates.

OK, think I've finally found the problem. gseaman, you were correct about the plugins.

I forgot that when starting Firefox in safe mode it still loads the current theme.   Embarrassed

I had been using this theme; KDE oxygen 1.15, to match the rest of the desktop.

Altered the theme back to default, lo and behold pages work correctly.

Hence the reason Chromium worked correctly and Firefox didn't. Roll Eyes

Marked as solved.

Great! Maybe you could post to Mozilla that the theme causes problems.

That mentioned, I just realized that I haven't used Firefox since the beginning of the year. And I don't miss it at all. Been using Chromium and Jumanji alternately.

I do apologize for posting a non-related reply.

I've e-mailed the developer to let him know.

I've e-mailed the developer to let him know.

Developer has responded; version 1.15 is obsolete (though still on the Mozilla site) and will shortly be replaced with version 3.0. I've tried 3.0 RC out for him and have confirmed it is working without the Flash problems.
