Dear Mr. Reynolds,

I want to thank You for all the years of a great work of creating and maintaining this wonderful linux distribution. My name is Miso Vranes and I live in Montenegro, small countru in Europe. I am 38 and an IT engineer for a long time. My company's main market is Microsoft oriented, but my preference is Linux, and on the desktop it is Yours (and I hope that I am allowed to say, our) PCLinuxOS.

Why am I writing this?

Some time ago I had personal problems that affected my life. Also, I almost completely lost interest in IT by using MS and other proprietary technologies.
Linux brought back that interest, and it was the main reason that I had became positive about my life again. Where is PCLinuxOS there?

Well, despite my good IT knowledge and experience, even with advanced systems, I struggled with linux at the begining. PCLinuxOS is the very thing that made easy and understandable everything about linux for me. It made the whole experinece and work full of fun and joy, even when working on advanced projects.
So, in a way it greatly improved my life. I met new good and open minded people from FLOSS world and learned a lot about a lot of things other than computers.

And I want to thank You and all the other famous guys arond linux (Mr. Torwalds, Mr. Stallman etc) because couple of days before my brother's little daughter said that she did not want that windows on her new computer, and that she wanted that "windows" that her uncle (me) gave her on her old computer 2 months ago.

Now she knows that that "windows" is called linux, and her linux is PCLinuxOS, and it is easy, natural, beautifull and funny to use. And she is happy.

And I also what to thank all the other guys and girls behind PCLinuxOS too.

Today I found an article:

http://ostatic.com/blog/is-pclinuxos-on-the-ropes?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+ostatic+%28OStatic%29

I do not know what is really goin' on. But whatever happens, you from www.PCLINUXOS.COM will always be our friends, linux legends, and my brother's daughter heros.

I want all of You The Very Best Of Life.

Sincerely,

Miso Vranes

Can I just say that is a most wonderful story - maybe one day your little niece will be part of the PCLinuxOS forum as well  Grin

As for the ocstatic blog you posted please don't worry - she simply doesn't understand Tex.

There's nothing going on that we can't handle.  Grin

That blog post is nothing but uninformed speculation, by a writer that failed to check the facts. We aren't going anywhere but forward, as usual.  Wink
