Linux - it's elementary

« on: February 04, 2011, 05:17:27 PM »

Hey All,

I recently purchased a new battery (found here) for my ThinkPad R52. However, neither PCLinuxOS (2010 KDE) nor Windows (XP SP3 with Lenovo utilities) will recognize it. That is, both give me "battery not installed" messages. I don't think the battery is from Lenovo (it's not branded, at least), but as far as I can tell the contacts look almost exactly the same and it should, in theory, work perfectly. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link. I'll definitely bookmark that for the future. However, the battery page just cycles back to the R52 page. Any suggestions for specific pages I should look at?
