Maybe the News info bar at the top left of the web page could be in flashing red.

I agree. But even without the falshin red would be nice! actuaaly as far as I know the only way to catch news is goin in the dedicated section of the forum, right Shocked?

One way is set it up as an rss feed - I use Akregator and the announcements are shown in a notification pop up.
