CT, okay, I'll try and get that in the next day.  The busted hinge on the laptop needs to be repaired.  For now, it's a new round of duct tape.Smiley

hmm, I cant get Ecomorph started...

I tried a few tricks from the forum, and no go, guess I didn't find the right ones jet..

I disabled the dropshadow and composite module
i went to a normal e17 without ecomorph and there disabled both of them.
I don't have the compiz installed on my machine

this is what I get if I try to start ecomorph in the module settings:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I later uninstalled complete e17 - fully with configuration and ecomorph also - no go, stil not working.
but there is a little different screen now:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I tried installing compiz also, disabled it in the hardware section of PCLOS configurations, but still no succes.

I had it working on the same computer - on the other disk - the same driver for nvidia that I use now,...
How could I make it work?

I had a 30 GB disk with pclos on it and there it worked
I changed the disk to 80 GB now, made a new install
and now the Ecomorph it's not working.
The difference there is, I had also installed the compiz -
even before I installed anything 'e17'.
I checked in synaptic for the software rasterizer, also installed
some packages with it, that had mention in the descriptions about rasterizing, from x11 section...

Yesterday I installed Bodhi on a laptop + Ecomorph,
 - got it to work in no time, so I'm puzzled  Huh

Thanks for replying r1to. I was actually wondering if you were using a different ISO for your install.  Reason for asking is that the effects never worked for me in the 2010.12 full but no problems with the others.

Now that you mention CD's, - I actually did install from 2 different ISO's.
First time it was LXDE and on top of that e17. It worked OK or at least I managed to make it so.
2nd time it was a Zen Mini ISO.
I did NOT install it from the e17 iso, cause at the time I didn't had one, and I got net-conn only after that...
Do you think it would solve the problem, if I try to reinstall with the one from the previous install - LXDE,
or should I do KDE or a Light e17?

In the ecomorph configuration window do NOT hit the start ecomp button. Only check the box next to 'Ecomorph mode' and click 'Apply' below the window. Don't know why they've put that start ecomp button there it's meant for teststart ecomp i think.

Check you have these thinks ok
1- Proprietary videodriver enabled for ati or nvidia cards
2- Ecomorph & ecomp installed from repo
3- Ecomorph module loaded & compositings + shadow modules unloaded
4- 3d effects disabled in pcc

Then log in into the e17-ecomorph session from gdm or kdm. If that fails use the normal enlightenment session to log in and try to enable ecomorph from te settigs window.

Might be a good idea to grab the e17-light iso and try ecomorph from the livecd.
