Bonjour melodie!
Agree! it' nice picture, but unfortunately I don't know who created it. The remaster's name (blackcat) reminded me this pic. I found it somewhere in the net, some time ago and added to my collection.

Very nice!
So far I have only set up a basic working theme for the remaster. At some point I'm going to have to get the creative juicees flowing and come up with a real theme. Your pic is a nice place to start dreaming.

Taco 22:
So far so good..... I like it. I have installed the Astronomy Edition on my laptop and it is great.
One very minor problem I had, I needed to connect through a wired connection to install the b43 module for my wireless device.
The way I look at it is if I need something that is not there, I will go and get it from the repos.

Hi ka9yhd,
I'm glad you are enjoying it. Thanks for the heads-up on the wireless driver. I have checked with Synaptic for it and some other similar items. I am slowly building up a number of revisions for the next release. Did you download the larger version or the cd size one? I am thinking I might get rid of the larger version as I was able to fit the Gimp on the cd. Gives me a target and keeps thing neater.

I'd like to have something that would work a telescope from the livecd-DVD
Kstars would be my favorite. The one in black cat doesn't have the feature, or it is greyed out.
Sure, I could make my own remaster, but this would be to hand out at astronomy meetings.
Thanks!

Hi nerdful1, I'd like to have something that would work a telescope from the livecd-DVD Kstars would be my favorite. The one in black cat doesn't have the feature, or it is greyed out. Kstars is on the cd - it's either got the feature or it doesn't. I'm not sure what the "greyed out" means. I don't have a telescope connected to this cd so I'm not sure of what you are seeing. You are not seeing telescope controls, ccd settings, etc? I'm not sure how you access scope drivers without a scope - kstars has indi drivers - are they showing up?

That's what I think is not available, the INDI stuff.
I'll check it out, maybe today and give you better details. Right now I have Meade LX200GPS stuff connected.

Indi files are in /usr/share/indi.xml - check it out and see if it is what you need. Synaptic as "indilib". In Kstars, under "Settings" - "Define Equipment", does your scope appear? I recall other bits and pieces but can't remember if for Kstars or Skychart.

That's stuff I will check out. I'll look at the other programs on the disk that have scope control and post back.
