my previous mainboard with different ram modules in pclinux 2009 did similar weird reports, we talked about this in that time, you also discarded it but as you see it is a error that can happen in multiple machines

i was verifying on the netbook, i doesn't show the ram slots or modules, only cache

As said, drop to Konsole and type mem free - that will tell you how much RAM the system truly sees.  For some reason the Control Center doesn't see things sometimes.

Doing just that (it being a front end to the CL tools) would be following the "Unix Philosophy", and possibly a good idea.  The philosophy is the understanding of not reinventing the wheel every time.  This issue should be respectfully taken up with the writer(s) of the PCC application, maybe?  Since all that info can be found using CL tools more reliably?
