OK, I really can't find this one anywhere... googled, searched linux questions, ub.. forums, arc... here...

Maybe some insider on themes like Agust or other would happen to know, how to set the backgrounds to resize stretch or center the way I want?

My situation is this:
I was able to have those beautiful backgrounds from themes filling my desktop right in any screen resolution I wanted. They would resize as I changed them and all was nice and neat.
After some - who knows which  Roll Eyes setting change - it became all default sized.

So now, if I chose from, say, the original background from Agust themes, be it animated background or a static one, or if I make my own from my imported pictures, it's always the default size of the original picture.

If it's animated or not, If it's bigger than my screen resolution, I noticed I always see only the very top of the wallpaper.
I can see that is so from the wallpaper setting window preview, where all the wallpapers in the system or personal folders are viewed in their own entirety.
But, when I click on the apply button, my desktop becomes either filled with the color of the corner of the chosen wallpaper, or it has a smaller picture than the chosen monitor resolution.
Itried to make a few different size wallpapers by importing.
No matter what I select on the window - stretch - center - resize,... it's always the original size... or in the upper left corner, if the picture is smaller than the screen resolution, or it is NOT viewed entirely, if it's bigger than thee.

I also noticed, that the ones, that are made in the size of the screen resolution I'm currently using, are filling the entire screen correctly.

I added a new user to check if by default it's still OK and there all the settings are working the right way.

So it must be some configuration file in my /home/me/.e/e/config folder. I don't want to just leave it that way. And I don't want to delete all other settings eather, so I'm wondering which one is to delete or replace with the new, for example, from the new added user /config directory.

as explained, even if i choose any option that is available in that pop up box, the result is the same - the wallpaper is always displayed in it's original size, be it small or big

Can't reprodouce that here everything seems to work. Also most .edj wallpapers are scalable.

Well , the truth I do not understand what you said , sorry!!
Wallpapers in .edj scale resolution screen.
Wallpapers in .png or jpeg , the functions  "resize stretch or center" only work the first time you put it, after it has established e17 format .edj
look in home/.e/e/backgrounds.

I hope I understand what you mean:
previously, when you opened a file to use as a wallpaper, you got a screen where you could select scaling/fit/center/..... and it did work (it works over here), but now it doesn't work anymore
=> you take e.g. a new jpg-file, select scale, press OK, and it isn't scaled on the screen???
Never occurred here, and I don't use e17 long enough to help you I think (can't imitate, or create such a situation)

When was the last time it worked well? Did you do an update since?
Probably you'll have to reconfigure everything (however you can start from an 'econfig' package in Synaptic - else it's much more work) - and during the development of e17 (it's not in it's release state - remember), it can happen that you sometimes have to reconfigure everything....

No I didn't...

I wont reinstall it yet, cause with the other account I made, everything is working just fine. That means that econfig reinstall is not necessary
That would also mean there's always another night ahead Cheesy and another maybe Wink

I'm testing, and afterwards, maybe I'l be able to know what caused this.
Not 100% sure, but I think it happened after I enabled the module slideshow... or it was a module photo... or adding other themes from the net and who knows what else...

Maybe it was the changing of the screen resolution, but as Agust said, they are scalable and in my case - they are not.  Is the edj wallpaper after importing a picture, when it has established e17 format .edj also scalable?

I will try to reproduce it on the other account, where at the moment everything is working fine, so it must be some configuration in my /home/r1to/.e/e/config   .... but which one?

I did some testing today, deleted some unused modules that I tried - after trying they make the *.cfg file, but it's still not OK.
I'm thinking of replacing them one by one and re login, maybe that way I'll find the bad man  Grin

a way around anyways -

open a blank file in gimp, set the size to 1200x1600 or whatever, and paste in your .jpg or .bmp

you can then scale the picture to fit the whole size, or scale to a certain size and fill in the background

save as .bmp, select it as wallpaper and see how it looks.  you can adjust it in gimp and just resave as bmp, and reload as wallpaper.

jes, if the scaling worked or stretching worked or centering worked, but it's not...

after deleting the config files, changing them from other working account, reinstaling econfig - no success  Huh

maybe it's got something to do with other themes than those which come with pclos from the exchange
i noticed that they are a bit diferent - in the settings window, under everything, there is this half meter close button  Cheesy. in themes problem? we'll see....

Only use Agust's themes they are fixed to work with the latest EFL libraries. The older themes are not longer usable.
You can install the Agust theme packages from the repo and find some more in this thread:
