As I used Compiz-fusion in 2010.10 and 2010.11, I installed via Synaptic Compiz-Fusion, because moving my mouse to the right uppercorner does not give me the overview of the open screens. And I thought Compiz is needed to show this.
Unfortunately after installing Compiz there is no improvement, the overview and my cube is not working.
.12 problem?

Hi Frits - have you installed task-3ddesktop ?
Also, have you checked in:
PCC (Configure Your Computer) >> Hardware >> Configure 3D desktop effects >

Just to double check - have you rebooted?
Also, try installing any Compiz plugins and the Fusion-Icon as well.

I think ccsm from a terminal should work.
Did you install the fusion-icon ?
If you did you should be able to choose which Window Manager you want to use (Compiz for you I guess) I haven't got it setup on setup on this machine but if memory serves when running the Fusion Icon it should drop an icon into the panel from where you can right click on it and choose the various options - WM (and Emerald) etc..

Fusion Icon is installed and when pressed it starts Compiz and comes in the panel in the right above corner, but is does not come there automatically when I start my netbook. Therefore I need the right command in the Start Up.

In PCC (Configure Your Computer) > Hardware > Configure Graphics there should be a 3D option. Once configured your session will reboot in 3D Compiz/Fusion modus Also possible after Ctrl-Alt-Backspace (2x) and change your session type to drak3D

Hi Ed,
3D is checked, but it does not start automatically. Only when I press the Fusion Icon.

I don't use Gnome but there's probably an option to Autostart apps/scripts etc.
Is there an System > Preferences > Session (or similar) type menu entry listed?
If there is have a look for an Autostart entry and point it to your Fusion Icon.

I found out that Enlightenment was not starting anymore after installing Compiz. Found a topic here on this forum about that problem. Disabled 3D to see if E17 would start-up and enden up with a malfunctioning system. Could not start normally or in safe mode. After the grub I only got a colorfull scrolling screen. I reinstalled PCLOS and will not use Compiz again, as long as I want to work with all the different desktops from PCLOS, E17 included . Maybe there will come a solution for this in due time .
