I am using PCLinuxOS2010.KDE on HP Mini 110 netbook with 1024x600 screen. I am looking to increase the usable vertical space. I have reduced the taskbar/panel height by dragging. But the icons of Lock/Logout appear big. How to set them to a smaller size?

Going through Configure Your Desktop > Common Appearance and Behaviour > Application Appearance > Icons > Customize KDE Icons > Advanced > Panel did not have any effect.

I am looking for the size of the icon on the settings page.

the first thing i did was remove those in the desktop pc, in the netbook seemed natural

if what you did wasn't enough, reduce height of taskbar you can set the taskbar(s, i have two on netbook and dekstop pc) to autohide

if that is still not enough, some users remove taskbar and leave a kmenu, a system tray, a device notifier and a task manager and of course a lock/logout widget on desktop and also set the window decoration to the smallest one possible

kde4 is very flexible now!

don't forget to press F11 in firefox to go fullscreen

The image used in KDE here are named system-shutdown.png in the directories /usr/share/icons/oxygen/*x*/actions.

I had initially reduced the toolbar height hoping the icons will scale down accordingly, but they did not. So I had to try and investigate.
But on a reboot or several reboots I do not remember exactly, the icons have scaled down themselves! I am happy to let it remain as it is for the time being.
I will mark the thread [RESOLVED]
Thanks everyone.
