Know of any extensions for Chrome/Chromium that can download youtube videos?

Have a look here Aradalf - this should help ya:

I've already searched for "YouTube Downloader" in the Chrome extension gallery. There is no "YouTube Downloader" extension.

What is this then?

That's not the Chrome Extension Gallery, this is the Chrome Extension Gallery.

can't help w/ the chrome-thing, but downloadhelper for firefox will actually give you a 'download and convert' option as well - i chose the folder, the format (192k bitrate mp3) - couldn't be easier!

if all else fails w/chrome, you could keep firefox around just for this, and use chrome for everything else.

Good call - that's what I do.  Browse with something light and use FF when needed.
