They all use different desktop environments by default. You can also add other DEs to them all.

MiniMe is a minimal KDE install; ZenMini is a minimal Gnome install. Both are minimal: don't install them if you don't have any idea what else you might need. Do try them out if you do and need to save disk space.

LXDE and XFCE are good alternative desktops for people who find KDE and Gnome a bit resource hungry.

E17 is the most elegant of all the desktop environments, but still a bit buggy.

Openbox I have never tried.

Basically, different windows managers; a matter of personal preference.  Think of it as a group of related distros; one of which will likely meet your needs - and all of them are PCLOS.

Thaks for the reply.  I acutually did look at of those descriptons side by side but on the xfce and LXDE but the descriptions sounded like two different people describing the same product using the same buzz words.  Sorry for the the way this is comming out .  I am having trouble typeing this.  every time I strick a key the window scrolls up to just below the quote and where I am typing dorps off tout of the window  so I'm typing blind.  Luckily I can touch type.  kinda.

Yeah, I noticed the "few megabytes", but I'm more interested about differences in terms of features or packages Smiley

LXDE and xfce are two completely different desktops.
Although I am supplying links to the websites, it is only for clarification of the differences. If you want to run PCLinuxOS with a particular desktop, use the proper .ISO that has been supplied.  Wink

Openbox : not a desktop, but several applications and configurations that make it look like a desktop.

Openbox is a window manager that can operate within a desktop environment performing its tasks, or on its own as an independent unit.  It seems to have taken over from the likes of blackbox and fluxbox; all members of the "box" family.  If you want a clean, fast, uncluttered, "nude" computing experience then try it out.  PCLinuxOS has its own home-grown version - http://www.pclinuxos.com/?page_id=542

For more info on Openbox go to http://openbox.org/

The difference is: Zen-mini is the finest operating system known to man, utilizing Gnome which is of course, the best, most stable and bug-free DE ever devised. Grin

Zen, the true mini, the very embodiment of choice, which is the hallmark of linux and libre software itself...freedom to choose Wink

More information about enlightenment: http://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=about&l=en
e17 is the best looking of all light desktops but very different.
The full version uses mostly qt/kde applications, the light version has light gtk apps.
