On every computer, Dell, personal Intel, AMD... PCLinuxOS install without any problem.
Now, on the computer of my wife, no way.
Its a Packard Bell - IMedia, intel based computer.
With ATI-Radeon - XPress.
After installation i always have a black screen,  Monique say's that she loves PCLOS more than other Linux distro's... And i try, but no success.
Can anyone give me some advice please ?
Greetings,

NOTE : I have no information about more hardware because we lost the manuscript.  Embarrassed

When you reboot do you at least get to the screen that
gives you the boot options ( PClinux 2010 - Safe Mode ) ?

If not.

Run the Live CD and start in Console Mode
At the Login prompt : enter the user name
At the Password prompt :  enter the password

Now type : XFdrake
It may now ask you to authenticate again : enter the password

Now use the arrow up - down - left & right keys to navigate - using the enter key to make your selections

navigate to the graphics card and press enter
Up arrow to the correct graphics driver for your computer
navigate to OK and press enter
and follow the prompts until you have saved all of the settings that you want.

Back at the konsole Prompt type : reboot

Remove the Live CD and press enter

You should now be taken to the loginscreen

Hope this HELPS !

After installation i always have a black screen,
you said you get a black screen "after" installation, I was asking if it runs O K from the live CD or do you get the same black screen from the live CD ? Have you tries the live CD in video safe mode or "no vesa"? to see if it is a graphics card problem with the Pachard Bell? I had a friend that had an Intel motherboard in a computer that absolutely refused to run anything except windows.
