I have this old Kodak Printer Dock Plus photo printer that I've had for years.  Worked fine under Windows, but haven't even broken it out since I've been using Linux.

Anyway, curiosity got then best of me, and so I did a search in Synaptic for Kodak and found I already had everything Kodak installed (don't know how that happened). Huh

First I tried to add the printer without hooking it up, and everything seemed fine.  Then I plugged it in and PCLinuxOS offered to set it up for me.  I figured it would probably do a better job than I did, so I let it, then removed the one I added manually.

Results?  I can print photos just fine (in Gwenview, anyway).  And I expect any other program, too.  Just as good as I could in Windows with the Kodak drivers...

Thank you, Tex and the gang.  Another pleasant surprise from the PCLinuxOS team.  I just love this distro!   Grin Grin Grin

Oh - I love little surprises like that as much as you do.  PrintDrake (correct term?) pulls in a lot of (mostly unnecessary) drivers with it.  Well, in your case it was a blessing and it certainly enhances user friendliness!   Cheesy

Here on Phoenix Mini I found cups all I needed for my local as well as network printer installs so I didn't dl the printdrake thingy ...

Only problem is, it's so old it is getting very hard to find ribbons (dye sublimation) and photo paper for it.  And it's much cheaper to take the memory card to Walmart and print, but as for being handy to give a print to visiting family or friend - can't beat it.
