Sorry about the poll dont know how to disable it. I was using windows vista but change over to pc linux os. but i was just using it to watch my movies and stream to watch on my tv.

Hmm. I can't watch digital high definition TV broadcasts either -- or rather, I can watch them, but with no sound or very distorted sound. This seems to be a known problem in Linux and it will no doubt be fixed. All other kinds of high resolution video work well, a prerequisite being that the video card can handle them.
So the question remains: are you talking about dvb or some other kind of video? And which video players have you tried?
(I've never started a poll so I can't tell you how to get rid of it.)

You want to send out the hdmi signal to a TV and it is not working? Better description badly needed else we are only guessing what you think you might mean ...... ********** BB, Is that audio problem peculiar to the NA version of DTT? Do you have any details or links about this? Thanks I am setting up something like this very soon here - I hope. |

Doesn't seem to be: I have a cable connexion with a DVB-C card. (The free HDTV channels have excellent picture quality but sound with lots of dropouts, or no sound at all.) Do you have any details or links about this? Thanks I am setting up something like this very soon here - I hope.
I'll see if I can find a link or two. It's quite a while since I stopped looking for a solution and my memory isn't what it used to be. |

I'm finally beginning to understand your problem: you are not trying to watch high definition television on your computer; you want to stream high definition DVDs and video files from your computer to your TV. Unfortunately that is something I cannot test. When I got quite a large monitor for my computer about a year ago I also got rid of my last TV set to save space, and since then I do the opposite of what you are trying to do: I just watch TV on the computer screen. But now that it's clear what you want to do, there must be someone out there who has managed to do it and will be able to help. |

I didn't spend much time on it but I couldn't get the HDMI port on my graphics card working either. I'm running ATI integrated graphics chip. I'm trying to 'feed' a 26" flat screen TV. My TV was detected fine by the plug-n-play setting and I played around a bit with the catalyst control panel but the best I could do was a black screen, a slight improvement over the blue screen with the 'Not Supported' message flashing around the screen.
I'm getting 1360x768 via RGB. Good enough for my needs.
