When does it happen? Is it when you do certain things or is just random?

I am running PCLinuxOS 2010 LXDE. There is a beep from the PC speaker when shutting down. It is "normal" -- nothing to be alarmed about. The beep can be stopped, if so desired. A recent post covered this topic. Do a search and I'm sure you will find it. I like my beep, so I'm keeping it.

whenever something happening in the terminal
like a program running finishing or some other warning time.
it is not random or shutdown startup desktop music.
it is more like a warning notification but it no popup window saying what it is for.
still it is present.
