Been having issues with a used computer I bought, no suspend/hibernate etc See that here: http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,65049.30.html

But also issues where the PC just freezes up, cursor stops dead and I have to reboot. Seems to happen a lot when I am using synaptic I have noticed.

However, last night it froze up and I noticed the three green lights above my keyboard number pad were continuously blinking, so for some reason I hit the number lock key and it caused the PC to reboot! What the?Huh Can a keyboard cause issues like that?

It's just an old Compaq keyboard, but I like the feel of it so I use it. Anyone know if this points to the motherboard being bad or something? Certainly the Num Lock key is not supposed to cause a reboot.

I just thought it was a very odd thing to happen and I am just trying to track down if this PC is even worth still trying to use or if I have to eat the 100 bucks I spent and try to find something else to use for my work station.

Thanks

your kernel just panicked(blue screening in windows). Kernel panics are caused by faulty drivers or faulty hardware.

Make sure all hardware are properly attached to your computer and update the kernel to the latest version and see if the problem is still there.
