old-polock,

Maybe the second option wasn't so scary after all; I used it to do what
you asked for later. Wow, I'm getting my hands dirty and it seems easier
than I cold have imagined.

[root@localhost keith]# blkid |grep sda6
/dev/sda6: UUID="1cd87a45-c94b-44ec-9da7-f9cdb4ddffef" TYPE="swap"
[root@localhost keith]#

Once you get used to the actual commands, its no harder than posting here. You are just telling the computer what to do, or asking it to give you some information about itself. It's a conversation with the computer, in a language the computer speaks.

If/when you are done messing with Windows, and can boot both OS, let me know, and then we can fix the swap partition overlap.

old-polock,

Apologies.  Really, I must get used to this form of communication.  I had finished
when I made the previous post.  Have altered the heading also as suggested by ezas.

Good. Now start a new thread, about the Partition Overlap problem. We can then correct that, and have a proper heading so others with a similar problem can more easily find a solution when doing a forum search.
