I just wanted to post this because I have had the opposite experience from
bigsite and I am not criticizing him in any way. I have used pclos from version
.92 until now. I have seen it grow and change from release to release and update
to update. It has been my experience that my problems get fixed with time
instead of the opposite. Some times I don't like to change the way I do things
but that is life I have to learn to live with it. I have installed PCLinuxOS on
many different desktops, laptops and one netbook. The problems I seem to have
are related to things out of Texstars sphere of influence. Ati drivers on hp
desktops motherboards come to mind. The fix is install an nvidia card. The
Broadcom drivers on the hp mini 311 don't work for wlan0 but it first
recognized the wireless as eth1 and works so I leave it that way. By the way
Broadcom is releasing updated drivers for the BCM4324 card in my hp mini 311 so
I am looking for that to get fixed before years end.

KDE is work in progress and the problems with it are being corrected daily. I
really don't have any problems with it right now. I use kwin and not compiz. I
like the classic oxygen theme with the clean blend workspace and deKorator
vista theme. I am just so overwhelmed and happy with PCLinuxOS. I would not
switch to any thing else, no exceptions. I have to say I think vista and win7
are really pretty, not that I would ever use them but I try to make my desktop
look similar just because I like the looks.

Texstar I am so thankful to you and Neal and the others that make this such a
wonderful distro. I wish there was a list of the contributors to pclinuxos so
we would know who they are and hold them in high esteem as they deserve to be
recognized and honored for their selfless dedication to this distro that we all
enjoy. It really bothers me for someone to criticize pclos for things that are
out of your control. Constructive criticism is a good thing and you can recognize
right away. Ungrateful criticism speaks volumes about the character of the person
making it.

Pretty words are nice but they don't pay the bills. Not to brag but to say my
actions prove my words. I donate several times a year. I have decided to make a
donation every iso release. As I have said before when I install pclos on a
computer I try to get a $20 donation from them to send in. I owe you $20 from
a new convert from last week to be sent in when the October release comes out.
