Wow I'm extremely impressed with this distro!  After installing I upgraded in synaptic and hit this forum.

The only think I've found a little bit glitchy is cairo-dock, BUT I replaced it with Gnome-Do Docky and it's working great.

Excellent job to all that were involved.  I look forward to seeing more!

Welcome, Brent!

Next to my standard KDE I've got XFCE running beautifully. Nice to hear that you've found the version that works best for you  Wink

Have fun!

Maintaining the Marque

A most appropriate thread!  Curiosity got the best of me...so, yesterday I installed PCLinuxOS XFCE on a separate system. I am a very satisfied 3 year PCLinuxOS KDE user, but my jaw dropped when I saw this desktop! I have been poking around and everything is most exciting!

I will take any advice re: this environment that anyone can give.

Whoever you (all) are who develops and shares this stuff...well...I just wish that we could sit down for a beer..or a beverage of your choice.  Wink Wink

After trying dozens of different Linux distros during the past three years. I've come to this conclusion: PCLinuxOS Phoenix version is the most perfect Linux system in existence. Two months using it and only one little pimple to complain about; in Firefox the buttons on the bookmarks bar are a bit sluggish to highlight when the cursor is hovered over them (but only with the Oxygen Molecule theme). My most sincere thanks to all who created this magnificent thingy.

Phoenix is indeed very nice - very very nice.  I use it as my goto version of PCLinuxOS for my old Celeron 2.0.  It positively flies!!

Now - after some time, I also get into it a bit more in order to tweak it just a tat under the hood.  A very pleasing experience, makes me fell I actually know something ...  Grin

Having said that, LXDE is very nice and fast as well - and from the onset pleasing to the eye.  But so far I have found my home in Phoenix and my playground in LXDE.

And now I am fiddling with OpenBox ... choices choices - live is good.
